Doom Developers Talk Potential Sequel
When it was announced that Bethesda was going to be bringing Doom back to life, fans were very excited, and to that end, the game was a big hit. Doom won numerous honors, and sold incredibly well. Thus, now fans are wondering if a sequel is coming.
“We left ourselves a really, really amazing canvas and a lot of colors to paint with going forward,” Doom co-director Marty Stratton said to IGN in an interview
They went on to praise not only the main game itself, but the DLC they did for Doom:
“I think the DLC we did for multiplayer is, it’s definitely the best of the multiplayer stuff that’s out there,” Stratton said. “We are sticking with the multiplayer, we’ve got some things that we want to still do and give players. We try to keep a close eye on what people are talking about, it’s going to be hugely informative as we go forward with just about everything,” Stratton said.
Their goal for Doom was apparently to make something special, even though everyone knows what Doom is:
“How do you make a game where it says Doom on the box and everybody already knows what the story is,” Martin said. “There’s no mystery to doom, so how do you make it compelling?”
Bethesda does have a press conference at E3 this year, so it is possible that a sequel for Doom could be coming.
