Far Cry Primal: 101 Trailer Offers Crash Course
Ubisoft has officially released a new gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated next installment of the Far Cry franchise with Far Cry Primal. You can check out the 101 trailer for the upcoming game in the player below.
The new 101 gameplay trailer provides a sort of crash course into the world of Far Cry Primal. The new game is set in the Stone Age, and players take control of the caveman named Takkar, who is the “Beastmaster” of the Wenja clan. The previous Far Cry games were known for their heavy artillery and automatic weapons. Here, Takkar only has very simple weapons at his disposal. He’s able to use some stone edged weapons and a bow and arrow. He can even fashion bombs to stun his opponents.
While Takkar can’t use guns, he can use animal pets in fights. By animal pets, that means wolves, owls, badgers, bears, great cats and sabretooth tigers. Some animals can even be used as mounts like the elephants in Far Cry 4. The ability to actually command animals and using them as allies is a fun new wrinkle to the gameplay. Previously, there were always lots of wild animals throughout the open-world of the games, but they are feral. You couldn’t really tame the tigers or elephants, but you could set them upon your enemies. Being able to control them here is an interesting new element.
Far Cry Primal arrives later this month. The game hits the PlayStation and Xbox One on February 23. The Windows PC version will be available with a slight delay until March 1.
