Rare Replay To Favor Gamers Who Played Rare Games On Xbox 360?
Ok, one of the more interesting reveals at the Microsoft E3 Press Conference was the reveal that Rare would be releasing a collection of many of their biggest titles on one disc called the Rare Replay. To help celebrate the 30 years of Rare being in the game industry.
Part of the fun came when it was announced that there’s up to 10,000 achievement points for you to get. However, there’s a catch. Some of the points will only be received if you played certain rare games on the Xbox 360, as Rare’s Jason Thomas told Rare Gamer in an interview:
“So the 360 games [in the Rare Replay digital collection] are as they currently are on the 360, nothing added or taken away. The benefit of this is that you get to use your existing achievements to get a head start in unlocking the bonus content within Rare Replay,” he said, “Furthermore, your saves carry across too thanks to the wonders of the Cloud – if you saved it up there on 360, it’ll be there on Xbox One. Now some swift maths should then give you a hint as to how much Gamerscore is within the remaining games and it’s fair to say we’ve pushed the boat out on that one and broken normal conventions.”
So depending on how diehard a Rare gamer you are, you might have a huge leg up on the competition when Rare Replay releases on August 4th.
