Rock Band 4 Post-Launch Update Starts in December
Harmonix officially announced this week some new details for post-launch support for Rock Band 4 that begins next month. Harmonix is promising that Rock Band 4 will be an ongoing live experience, and the first major update launches for Xbox One and PS4 on December 8.
The post-launch program for the rhythmic game will provide monthly updates for Rock Band 4 players. These updates will range from smaller bug fixes and stability improves to new content and features. The update set for December 8 will be free and adds a new competitive system for the game called Score Challenges, which utilizes a live activity feed that shows users what their friends are playing, and allows them to compete with each other for high scores on songs. Another new feature for the December update will be the Auto-Kick option.
Speaking on the announcement, Harmonix CEO Steve Janiak stated: “Since we announced back in March, Harmonix has been saying Rock Band 4 will be the only Rock Band game for this console generation. We are thrilled to unveil details of our plan today as the realization of that promise.”
Rock Band 4 product manager Daniel Sussman added: “This first feature update should give our players a taste of what’s to come as Rock Band 4 evolves over the next year and beyond. All of us on the team are excited to develop and support the game in collaboration with our amazingly creative community.”
Rock Band 4 is currently availaable for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
