Scott Eastwood Says Suicide Squad is a Very Physical Film
In films today, there’s a perception that very little stunt work is done, especially in films where the CGI is really amped up. To a degree, that is true. Special effects do help keep stunt work down at times. However, not all directors work that way. Many like a more physical, or “realistic”, look or feel to their movies. Apparently, David Ayer is taking that approach with Suicide Squad.
Scott Eastwood, son of Clint Eastwood, and a man who’s role in Suicide Squad is still secret, was interviewed by E! Online and was asked about the film. He noted how physical it was.
Eastwood stated, “[We’re] doing a lot of our own stunts, really physical. He [David Ayer] wants everyone to do their own stuff and he doesn’t hire guys who aren’t willing to do that.”
Interesting, this sheds light not only on the movie itself and its tone, but also why certain members of the cast were hired, which leads to this interesting little tidbit. Apparently Eastwood is afraid of Jared Leto:
“I was sort of afraid to approach him… But I knew him before; I met him before he was The Joker. I just met him as Jared Leto. So I didn’t want to mess with his thing.”
He wouldn’t be the first to fear the Joker. Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5, 2016
