Strange Nature Opens September 22
If you go down to the woods today, you’re in for a big surprise. Strange mutations are becoming more common around a specific rural area, and nobody knows why. That’s the creepy premise behind Strange Nature, a new eco-thriller from Ojala Productions.
A children’s hiking group in rural Minnesota discover several live, mutated frogs along a pond.
In the same area, a single mother, Kim, and her 11-year-old son, Brody, have just moved in with her estranged father, Chuck. It’s not long before they too start witnessing strange occurrences including a disemboweled deer and the family dog’s deformed puppies.
As the fear rises the rumors begin to fly. Some blame the intimidating disfigured hermit father and daughter who live on a surrounding lake. Environmental science points to the water sources. Possibly causes are pesticides, parasites or both. As the chaos spreads it becomes clear that Chuck’s cabin is a hotspot ground zero for these mutations.
And the situation’s getting worse. Two teenagers go missing, and their mutilated bodies are discovered later that week — possible victims of the mutated creatures. Then, when babies start being born at the local hospital with the same mutations….could humans be joining the crowd?
Strange Nature stars Lisa Sheridan (“Invasion”), Stephen Tobolowsky (Memento), John Hennigan (Minutes to Midnight), Tiffany Shepis (Victor Crowley), and Carlos Alazraqui (The Funhouse Massacre, plus he was the voice of Rocko). It’ll be a very dangerous day when Strange Nature hits Laemmle’s Glendale Theatre in Los Angeles September 22! Screenings in other locations will follow.
