Super Meat Boy Forever Due Out In 2018
Super Meat Boy Forever is set to launch in 2018 across a variety of platforms it was announced today. Revealed in a brand new trailer for the game at Nintendo’s indie event earlier today, it is clear that the game is a full sequel to the 2010 game Super Meat Boy. According to the trailer, the title will be coming to Steam, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
The game was initially announced several years ago and began life as an auto-runner that would be released on PC and tablets. However, the announcement shows that this is a full sequel featuring Meat Boy, Bandage Girl, Dr. Fetus, and Nugget (the two protagonists child). According to the developer, the levels will change after you beat them into slightly harder versions, with the difficulty modifying dynamically based on your progress.
“To describe [the game] as an auto-runner would be a disservice,” says Team Meat. “It’s like saying that Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a game about a swordsman. Meat Boy / Bandage Girl do always run, but there is so much more to the game than running. They can attack enemies, they can dash through the air, there are tons of levels, there are bosses, there are secrets, and there is a surprising amount of difficulty that doesn’t feel unfair. It’s everything you would expect a Super Meat Boy sequel to be.”
There’s no word yet on pricing or an exact release date but we will bring you them as soon as they are available.
