Trade your Tar-21 for talons in Primal Carnage
While FPS aficionados in their thousands have been begging DICE to consider a ‘Dino Mode’ for Battlefield 3, independent developer Lukewarm Media has been cooking up their own Jurassic take on the first-person shooter genre. Alpha and Beta testing is now complete, and the result is Primal Carnage: a multiplayer-only IP that pits human hunters against prehistoric predators.
Available today, from the game’s official website via a number of reputable digital retailers, Primal Carnage is a fine example of affordable entertainment. For around $15/£10, you’ll get:
- Five expansive environments in which to team up and take down human or dinosaur competition online
- 10 playable classes (five human, five dinosaur) with unique skills and abilities that can trump each other in rock-paper-scissors fashion
- Multiple achievements and unlockables
- The promise of long-term DLC support, including new maps, game modes and character skins
At present, this teamwork-based battle between man and beast is exclusive to PC, but we at The Paranoid Gamer believe this would be a huge hit with the console crowd – so much so that we emailed Lukewarm’s CEO Ashton Andersen this morning to ask about the possibility of a port. Stay tuned for his response.
In the meantime, check out the Primal Carnage launch trailer below, and let us know which side you’d choose.
