Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs Is Free This Week
Most gamers agree that the original Watch Dogs kinda failed at what it set out to do, but now that it has an entry price of “free,” it’s worth a play. Ubisoft will be giving away the PC version of the 2014 open-world hacking game starting tomorrow, November 7. The giveaway period ends a week from today, November 13.
Is there a catch? Nothing in regards to the game itself — it’s free forever assuming you download it within the time limit. But it does require having an account with Ubisoft’s UPlay distribution service. If you don’t have an account with the service, you can just make one and get the game that way. Easy as pie.
Ubisoft has given away free copies of their older games in the past, with the same motivation (getting more users to sign up for UPlay). Assassin’s Creed 3, The Crew and Prince of Persia:Sands of Time were given away in 2016.
